Introduction

Biju Patnaik House is one of the six houses of Sainik School Sambalpur. The house is named in remembrance of one of the great leaders and aviators of Odisha, Shri Biju Patnaik. The house cadets, just like Shri Biju Patnaik popularly known as Biju Babu, are expected and inspired to have a great visionary leadership trait, resilience, a noble thought of community service, innovation and entrepreneurial mentality, and above all, the courage to serve the motherland.

Cadets of Biju Patnaik House nurture the values of team spirit, consistent competitiveness with dignity, and zeal for always marching forward. The cadets are all together part of a single house team, putting their best efforts into enhancing the dignity and efficacy of the house and the school as a whole. Putting their soulful, spirited work for the house team before self, and thinking beyond the possible limits for the manifestation of the best of their inner vitalities, is of utmost priority for cadets of the house. That is what the motto "Beyond The Horizon" signifies.

The vision for cadets of Biju Patnaik House is thinking and taking prompt actions in situations with minimal positive chances. Foreseeing farther than the possible limits, having optimism, and zeal to find their ways of doing things in adversity are the base qualities of Biju Patnaik House. The colour of the house is green as it signifies freshness, growth, renewal, endurance of the cadets in their ways of performance, and never-ending efforts of moving forth in self-development.

The house performed very well in every single event in previous years under the name of Prithivi House. We had the honour of achieving two consecutive Cock House trophies in previous years. These achievements showcase the hard work, dedication, efficiency, and perfection in each and every sector of competition.
